DAF BUS may build some of 11 British customers' coach chassi at Colchester as a hedge ageing possible import controls.
The company will hay sufficient space to do this aftE its service activities ar transferred this year fror Marlow, in Buckinghamshire t purpose built premises Colchester. It is considerint assembling some vehicles fron completely knocked down kit$. and relatively low volumi models like coaches may b■ better suited to this.
It believes that somi commitment to British assembll could stand the company good stead if a futuri Government tried to restrict thi flow of imported vehicles.
