J. A. (Dai) Davies has been appointed assistant general service manager of ERF Ltd. Mr Davies was previously technical service manager. In this new position he will be responsible for all technical matters relating to the service department and for communication with other ERF departments on matters dealing with service problems. C. Sparrow has been appointed technical service supervisor and is now on a world tour to carry out a field service survey to check the effectiveness of recommendations made during his last visit to Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. While overseas, Mr Davies will also visit Hong Kong and Mozambique, and while in the Trucial States will look at the Shell markets operation, and their working in desert conditions.
tRoger Cowdrey, 28, has been appointed commercial vehicles , sales manager for the Wolverhampton Street, Walsall, depot of the Reginald Tildesley Group. , Mr Cowdrey has been with the Group for seven years. R. M. C. Baschy, traffic planning and development officer with United Counties Omnibus Co Ltd, Luton, who was traffic superintendent with Wigan Corporation Transport Department from 1957 to 1963, has been appointed general manager of the Wigan undertaking at a salary of £4,320. He succeeds J. McKnight, who retires in April. Mr Baschy left Wigan to take up a transport post on Teesside and later became general manager of Luton Corporation Transport Dept.
Norman M. Haydon, who has served on the board of directors of London Carriers Ltd for some 10 years, has been appointed managing director. Clifford J. Thompson has been appointed credit manager for all UK operations of Hertz Truck Rental. Formerly, he held a similar role with Lex Garages Ltd.
Maurice Leven, 45, National Carriers Ltd cartage assistant at Brighton depot since 1968, becomes depot manager at Tonbridge.
