the method of recruitment of conductors for -CIE., Dublin City bus services. Up to now vacancies have been announced in Irish national daily newspapers and the , main response has been from the Dublin district. Under the new arrangements advertisements will be published in provincial papers serving particular areas, interviews then being held at a central location. Co. Kerry was the first territory on the list and interviews recently took place in Tralec. Further campaigns are to be held in Galway and Donegal.
As there are many fluent speakers of the Irish language in the centres mentioned, C.1.E. hopes that some of them will be suitable for appointment. Irishspeaking couriers are specially favoured for educational tours of the capital, as many teachers prefer this language to be used for any commentary. Where practicable, relations and friends from provincial areas who apply will be appointed to the same district depots in Dublin.
