from area secretaries for Road Haulage Association members who wish to be included in the visits to the U.S.A. and Canada which have been arranged for September 1 to 22 this year. A party totalling 137 will fly to New York and split into three tours: one by coach will go through Eastern and Central U.S.A., the second, also by coach, will travel mainly in Canada, and the third will sweep right across the U.S.A. and Canada by air.
Charges, excluding meals, will be from £180 to £310; members will meet hauliers, traders and government officials.
Ulster Driver Contest: The 1965 Northern Ireland round of the L.D.O.Y. competition is to he held in June; the exact date will be announced later. Organization will be in the hands of the Castlereagh R.D.C. Road Safety Committee and, as hitherto, the venue will be the Industrial Estate, Castlereagh, Belfast.
New L.D.O.Y. Date: The Northamptonshire L.D.O.Y. contest, previously announced for June 27, will now take place on Tuly 4.
