in L.D.O.Y. Eliminators ELIMINATING contests for the Lorry Driver of the Year competition will be held at Dunfermline and Glasgow as

well as Edinburgh this year. Another change is in the West Country where Plymouth has withdrawn but Torquay has been accepted., In all cases, acceptance of the new eliminating contest centres is subject to the arrangements being approved • by the national committee.

At its meeting on Tuesday the national

• executive also drew up a new rule which will be universally used for finding an. overallwinner (if this is required) in eliminating contests! The winners in each class will run through the identical

tests again and the driver who shows the best percentage improvement on his earlier performance will be the outright

winner. In applying this rule, classes will be merged if there are fewer than three drivers in a class, the same basis being used as for dealing with failures to produce a '' worst correct performance " for marking purposes. i.e. A with B: C with D: El with E2: Fl with G: F2 with H.

It is now known that the final at Bramcote will be held on September 12. and other dates not previously confirmed are Newcastle upon 'Fyne June 13. Manchester July 4. Dunfermline May 9.
