RECOMMENDATIONS for road improvements submitted a year.ago to the Ministry of Transport by the Northern Regional Board for Industry
have not been accepted. Sir Mark Hodgson, chairman of the Board, has stated that the proposals were made at the Ministry's request.
Production of many industries was being retarded because of diversions of vehicles to avoid weak bridges and bad road surfaces, and the Board intended to press for the improvements to be made.
