Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AN application by East Yorkshire Motor Services, Ltd., for permission o revise certain fares which would -ealize £61,000 extra revenue a year, as been refused by the Yorkshire eicensing Authority. The application as a result of the Authority's direcion at the time of the last fares .ncrease. early in 1953, that the fare,ables should be recast and a fresh triplication lodged.

The Authority has stated that he had lot contemplated the proposals resultatg in such an increase, and has now suggested that new proposals should be submitted which, whilst straightening out anomalies, would not bring in 110TC revenue.

At the inquiry, which was reported in The Commercial Motor on August 14, 1953, and January 15 last, line local authorities and a local branch of the Labour Party objected to the proposals.
