"A FEEBLE answer to a crying need," was how Mr. B. Pickup, president of Manchester Chamber of
Commerce, at the Chamber's annual meeting on Monday, described the Minister of Transport's recently announced plans for road improvements.
He said that there would be pressure for a larger allocation of money for Lancashire roads and for an earlier start to be made than was suggested for urgent schemes.
