DFORD is reported to be planning to phase out its naturally pirated 'blue series' engine used in its Y. series bus and coach assis.
rhe engine is likely to be replaced by a lightly turbocharged 'low rw' version of the engine rated to produce 130.3 kW (174.6 bhp) at ,00 rpm. Net installed torque will be 556 Nm (409.8 lb ft) at 1,600 n.
-urbocharged engines are now available right across the Bedford r range including the lightweight PJK (VAS) and SB (NJM) which low available with a turbocharged version of its 330 Red Series jine rated to develop 80.1 kW (107.3 bhp) at 2,600 rpm.
