Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A PPLICATIONS by Mr. D. H. RowPl. lands, Amlwch, and Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., for express services between Anglesey and the proposed nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd, were adjourned as premature by the North-Western Traffic Commissioners at Llandudno last week, Mr. Rowlands said that because of unemployment -in Anglesey he had been asked by many people if he would be prepared to run a .service to cater for local men who would be employed on the atom project. He was prepared to operate as soon as there was a demand, starting from Cemrnaes Bay and picking up at various points on the island. He would leave on Sunday nights, returning the following Saturday.

The labour force in the Trawsfynydd area would be inadequate to deal with the situation and it was expected that the contractors would draw on pockets of unemployment in the surrounding areas.

Mr. J. Edward Jones, for Crosville, said their application was by way of being a protective measure until there was more definite information. Tenders for the work had not yet been allocated and it was not yet possible to ascertain what need there would be.

The chairman, Mr. F. Williamson, said the applications would be adjourned until the. situation developed. Then they would be relisted and dealt with according to the need. If something had to be done at short notice a short-term licence would be granted, sharing the work between the applicants.

Al -DUAL LANES WITHIN the next two financial years, IT the Minister of Transport hopes to authorize works which will result in the Al being a dual carriageway between London and Newcastle upon Tyne. He is having detailed studies made of highway needs for the next 20 years, but no programme has yet been drawn up.
