Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Ql-fARP criticism was made -by the 1--) objectors at Bridlington, last week, when a letter was handed to Maj. F. S. Eastwoocj, Yorkshire Licensing Authority, stating that Mr. W. F. Plater, Burton Agnes, near , Driffield, had decided to withdraw his application for an A and a B licence.

Mr. T. B. Atkinson, for the British Transport Commission, said one of his witnesses had travelled 40 miles, and another 20 miles. For another -objector, Mr. R. E. Paterson said his client had travelled 20 miles.

Maj. Eastwood said he would pass on their remarks to the Minister of 'Transport. Mr. Plater had written to his M.P. about the Licensing Authority, and the M.P. had contacted the Minister. His failure to turn up would show how he treated traffic courts. It was an obvious case where a Licensing Authority should have the power to grant costs.
