RADWELD FOR SEALING LEAKING RADIATORS

THE supplier of Wondar Weld, HE Holt (Est. 1919), Ltd. 9, Little Turnstile, Holborn, London, W.C.1, which material has been favourably received by many engineers and

appears to have given satisfactory results in a large number of cases, has now brought out a new compound, known as Radweld. This is a liquid metallic preparation designed, as its name implies, to repair leaking radiators.

It is claimed for this preparation that it will give an efficient repair by forming a permanent metallic seal that will withstand high temperatures, water presures and vibration, without relying on blocking or corrosive action. It will not clog radiators with the smallest of water passages; also it will opera's in all anti-freeze solutions.

It is marketed in two sizes—small. 3s. 6d., for capacities up to two gallons; large, Os., for those up to font gallons.

MORE BLACKPOOL BUSES ON TOWN GAS DLACKPOOL Transport Committee 13 has decided to convert another nine buses to operate on town gas, following the success of the municipality's first gas bus, a 62-seater. The cost of conversion is about £100 per vehicle, which, it is expected, will soon be recovered by economies in fuel costs.

NEARLY £100,000 PROFIT MADE • BY "EAST KENT" I N the year ended September 30, 1941,

East Kent Road i2ar Co.. Ltd., made a profit of 298,210, after making provision for taxation and depreciation. The amount available, after adding the balance brought in is £113.872, from which £9,750 has to be deducted in respect of preference share dividend for the nine months ended June 30, 1941. General reserve receives £10,000, and the dividend on the preference shares for the remaining three months of the year takes £8,250, whilst an 8 per cent, dividend on the ordinary shares absorbs £36,000, leaving £54,872 to be carried forward.

BUS DRIVERS FINED FOR TAKING PART IN STRIKE

FOR their part in the recent Glasgow Corporation bus strike, 18 drivers and four conductresses were each fined XI, with the option of five days' imprisonment, at the Glasgow Sheriff Court. They admitted taking part in a strike in connection with a trade dispute which had not been reported to the Ministry of Labour and National Service.

In defence of the accused, it was urged that the statute under which they were charged had not been posted in the garage and that they were largely ignorant of the consequences of their act.
