Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Take a stroll with us through the little sideroads of haulage, the diversions and detours, the quirky, the quixotic and the downright strange...

Like On the Margin first thing in the morning all tousled flair, bloodshot eyes and a faint aroma of last night's booze there are some things from which beauty is almost entirely absent. You might think that the M5 motorway would fall into this category: the pervasive aroma of burnt plastic from Bridgewater's cellophane factory could perhaps be a feature in its own right. However, there is one man prepared to see beauty in this stretch of motorway. Step forward Mike Jackson of Malvern, Worcestershire. Mr Jackson whose book, The M5 Sights Guide has sold a respectable 3,000 copies since it went on sale last November. Among the sights it celebrates are the views from Bristol's Avonmouth dock and the JT Nex cathode ray tube factory near West Bromwich. Lovely.

Like a milkman on his regular round, we've been down this street before, but we're still trying to get a handle on just what this logistics thing is. Is it transport with some warehousing thrown in and multiple noughts on the bill? Is it something that men in suits do? We were left scratching our heads like a flea-ridden monkey until DTS Logistics' A-Z of Terms turned up. It defines logistics as: "a business-planning framework for the management of material, service, information and capital work flows. It includes the increasingly complex information, communication and control systems required in today's business environment."

Well that's cleared that up then.
