Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AIR-HYDRAULIC actuation, offering

the prospect of more accurate control f lifting gear than is common with simple ydraulic systems, is an important feature f an integrated container handling system nnounced by Highway Trailers (Great ritain) Ltd., of Southampton. The whole ,rstem provided by Highway comprises a celetal semi-trailer, ISO freight containers rid fixed-length support legs.

The semi-trailer is fitted with front and !ar pairs of air-hydraulic lifting legs which re worked off the standard air-pressure ,rstem of the tractive unit. To unload a 3ntainer (or sets of containers as pictured ..re) the tractive unit is uncoupled from the ailer but the air lines are left connected. he leg gear is then actuated, lifting the semi-trailer clear of the ground by about 3in. The container base is then about 4ft. 9in. from the ground and the support legs can be slotted into sockets in the underframe. When the semi-trailer has been lowered to the ground and the air-hydraulic legs retracted, it can be recoupled to the tractive unit and drawn away, to leave the container standing.

To pick up a container the whole procedure is reversed. No ancillary handling equipment (other than the tractive unit) is required.
