'hen Hampton first started with a fleet of tipper vehicles 3 experienced difficulties. Heavy use inflicted severe 3mage on the vehicles and tipping equipment. Conven)nal tipping gears proved unsatisfactory for handling 3avy loads on rough sites.
Telelever was specially developed in two forms by .?.lehoist for this very demanding work. One, a single exnsion double acting ram; and two, a heavy duty double :ting twin ram version with single extensions, mounted a chassis sub-frame. The full length sub-frame reforces the chassis and distributes the stresses equally. A bust, twin linkage mechanism protects the ram from )normal strain from side loads, and also provides great ability when tipping. Telelevers give fast tipping times 10 to 13 seconds. Tipping angles of up to 70° are )ssible too with Telelever gears.
