Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE travelling showroom, or display van, is now a well-established form of publicity, which is used by some of the biggest business houses of the day, and one of the latest national organizations to recognize its value is Messrs. Campbells, the well-known furnishing firm, who have recently put into service the attractive Commer vehicle shown in the illustration below. The basis of the van is a Commer 2-ton forward-control chassis, and the smart body stands to the credit of Arthur Mulliner, Ltd., of Northampton. The van operates in the various towns in which Messrs. Campbells have branches, visiting each town and the outlying districts every week. 'The signboards on the sides of the machine are changed each time a new town is

reached to show the suitable address.

The vehicle is most tastefully finished in Oxford and Cambridge blues and silver relief, the exterior fittings being chromium plated. The electric-lighting effects for the display bays are unique. A one-kilowatt dynamo, fitted in the frame, is driven from the gearbox, and can be used when the vehicle is stationary or on the road. The 24volt battery is a heavy-duty type, of 300 amp.-hours' capacity at the 10hour rate. So that the weight is properly distribute& the batteries are housed below the floor of the display counters on each side, and are arranged to slide out on runners to the centre gangway, in order that they may be inspected. Air ducts are arranged to carry the gases, which are liberated while charging, outside the vehicle.

The general lighting scheme is by 90 gas-filled bulbs, and, by reason of the amount of heat thrown off, the system of ventilation had to be carefully thought out. Each bay is illuminated by five main lights, which give an intense, yet diffused, light in a downward direction. Some idea of the extent-of the wiring can be gathered from the fact that nearly 500 yards of cable were used in the installation,
