• Hundreds of hauliers could see an increase in work when furniture retailer IVIFI replaces backstore warehouses with regional distribution centres. The change will mean a big increase in home delivery—a service MFI contracts out to local transport companies.
Half of the group's 186 stores have reduced warehousing and new plans will eliminate storage from a quarter of its outlets. Hauliers will eventually make longer trips to 14 RDCs.
