he Hawk is always a sucker for a story with a happy ending. And it seems he may have played a modest part in bringing this one about. Some time ago there was an appeal in Bird's Eye View by PC Malcolm Jarvis from Stapleford in Nottinghamshire.

PC Jarvis is a community policeman who, together with local youth worker Keith Hanberry, was looking at ways to solve the problems of street-corner gangs, and was involved in a project to get them off the streets.
