Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DRIVER FAILED in his claim for compensation last week when an industrial tribunal ruled that Dacoll Engineering Services of Bathgate had been within its rights to sack him for submitting fraudulent expense claims.

The driver, Mr Richmond of Longridge, had filed two overnight allowance claims that his tachograph had not substantiated, and after making careful inquiries the firm had discharged him. Mr Richmond had then removed the tachograph, with, he later said, the intention of using it to demonstrate to the police that the firm had tried to get him to drive excessive hours. This had not been the case.
