Dutch drivers deal

NETHERLANDS lorry drivers have won a wage deal which includes a 2.4 per cent cost of living increase with effect from July 1 last.

The 70,000 drivers, who are members of FNV, the Dutch transport workers' union, have won the cost of living rise, a further adjustment on December 31 based on the retail price index, a maximum accommodation allowance of £12.50 for consecutive 24-hour periods, and a stop-over payment of £6.25 per day spent abroad.
