A revised range of standard models has een developed by the company and new model names eve been chosen. Two axle tractive units which provide ir operation at up to 34 tons (limited to 32 tons under resent regulations in the UK) are named Borderer, tar-steer tractors designed for up to 35 tons are named Bader and 6 x 4 tractors for up to 44 tons have the name enturer. Both the new chassis have Fuller RTO earboxes, the 38-ton-gross Leader a 909 nine-speed unit rhile the Borderer has a 610 10-speed box. In the case of le 38-ton Leader, the drive from the engine is through a Epe-Rollway twin-plate clutch ; the Borderer exhibited

will have a 17in. single-plate clutch. Both chassis have a new Kirkstall double-reduction rear axle—spiral-bevel in the centre and secondary hub-reduction.

Other Atkinson Show exhibits will consist of a Venturer 6 x 4, 44-ton-gross tractive unit with Cummins turbocharged 270 bhp engine and the same gearbox and clutch as the Leader and Eaton double-drive bogie with four-spring suspension, a Defender eight-wheel tipper with Gardner 6L/CB, David Brown gearbox and Eaton double-drive bogie and a Borderer 32-ton-gross tractive unit with Gardner 6LXB engine, David Brown gearbox and the earlier design of Kirkstall double-reduction rear axle.
