Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A N arrangement between Taskers of

Andover and D. H. Morgan Engineering Ltd., whereby Taskers will manufacture and distribute the Morgan Hydro-coupe low-loader semi-trailer has recently been negotiated between the two companies. The model has been highly developed by the designer, D. H. Morgan, and now has the considerable after-sales organization of Taskers to supply spare parts.

The Hydro-couple was first described in this journal on May 17, 1963. Since this description the maximum payload of the trailer has been increased from 10 tons to 18 tons.

The trailer consists of two units, the front one being the swan-neck containing the landing gear, fifth-wheel rubbing plate and the mating parts of the swanneck and .bed; the trailer bed and running gear form the rear unit. When the need to load from ground level occurs, the hydraulic landing gear is extended, removing the weight from two retractable steel pins located in the front corners of the load platform. When these have been removed, the landing gear is lowered, so disengaging the rollers of the swan-neck, from the load-bearing hooks mounted on the front corners of the load platform. The tractive unit and the front section of the trailer are then driven away, leaving the bed ready for loading. This procedure is reversed when coupling the two halves together.

Overseas sales and service will still be in the hands of D. H. Morgan (Engineering) Ltd., the designers of the trailer. A recent order for six of these units was placed by The Eddison Plant Co. Ltd. (see The Conunercial Motor, August 28).
