finalists come together to dispute the final round of the 1964 Lorry Driver of the Year competition at the Junior Leaders Regiment (R.A.) at Bramcote, Warwickshire. Bramcote is about four miles south-east of Nuneaton.

Among the finalists will be last year's winner, Joe Dakin of Express Dairy Co. Ltd.; but Cpl. Readman, who won in 1961 and 1962, is not in the final this time.

As before, four manteuvring tests will be used in deciding the overall winner: kerb parking; " snooker " (dislodging coloured balls with the vehicle's front wheel); width judgment, and reversing into an angled loading bay. The class round will be run in driver' normal vehicles, but in the final run-off the same vehicles will be used by all contestants. Prizes will be presented by Mr. John Davis, chairman of the Rank Organization Ltd. The winner this year gets B.M.C.'s Coventry Trophy; the Lord Rootes silver salver (to entrant) with silver cigarette case (to driver); a cash award of 150 plus 15 from the Rootes Group; a week-end at the Top Rank Motor Inn of his choice for the driver and his family; dinner for two for the employer; and the George Macaulay Memorial Award.

As well as the competition itself, there will be sideshows and a motorcycling display. The event starts at 9 a.m.
