Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AOTOR-VEHICLE insurers have 11flagreed to special arrangements for insurance cover for the carriage of farm workers on goods vehicles used for this year's corn harvest. Existing policies of such vehicles normally cover the legal liability of the owner and driver towards passengers who are being carried under the terms of a contract of employment, provided that the vehicle is not being used for the carriage of passengers for hire or reward.

In view, however, of the fact that some vehicles may be used for carrying passengers for hire or reward and of the probability that some of the farm workers will not be under contract of employment, the haulier should protect himself by covering his liability.

Cover will normally be available at 10s. per vehicle for a period not exceeding two months, plus 5s. per vehicle per month thereafter.

Goods-vehicle operators who are concerned with the carriage of farm v,,orkpeople in connection with the corn harvest haulage should, therefore, get into communication with their insurance office to ensure that their liability is covered.
