MORE THAN 40 owners of authorised testing facilities (ATFs) are set to meet next week to discuss their working relationship with Vosa.

Stephen Smith, owner of Boleyn Transport, which operates an ATF from its site in Barking, Essex, has called the meeting with a view to start an association for ATF owners and opening dialogue with Vosa at a top level.

“We want to have a grownup conversation with Vosa about issues that are being overlooked,” said Smith.

“Vosa asked the industry to become its partners: we took on the costs, the administration, the hardware, and the running of the sites, yet we have little control over how to run the customer and business side of the ATF scheme,” said Smith. “We just want a fair partnership,” he added.

The meeting is taking place on 17 October in Coventry. Vosa chief executive Alastair Peoples said: “A fair partnership is certainly our aim. I want to do everything possible to ensure the success of ATFs.” All ATF owners are welcome to attend, email StephenS@ boleynrecovery.com for details.
