At the 2002 IAA Show Scania unveiled its bonneted STAX (Scania Truck Advanced Xterior) tractor, posing the question: “Will future truck operators be prepared to sacrifice some cargo volume and payload for nice looks and superior driver comfort?
This is Scania’s idea behind the design concept, which could become reality in 10 to 15 years’ time.” Despite STAX’s attractive lines the answer was ultimately, no.
