Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRUCK RENTAL and contract hire company BRS expects to have converted its entire fleet of 1,340 trucks to the Renault marque within the next six months.

Volvo Trucks bought BRS Truck Rental from NFC in 1998. Volvo subsequently bought the Renault Trucks business and in 2006 responsibility for BRS switched from Volvo Trucks’ Warwick HQ to Renault Trucks in France. Since then, control of BRS has been shifted to Renault Trucks UK, and BRS is now based at Renault’s UK head office in Dunstable.

These movements have been accompanied by phasing out the Volvos and other truck marques in the BRS fleet in favour of Renault equivalents. This process is almost at an end, with the last nonRenault trucks due to drop out of the fleet within the next six months. “The transition has gone remarkably smoothly,” said Renault Trucks UK operational marketing director Penny Randall. She added that BRS had not lost a single contract as a result of its 100% Renault policy.

BRS is promoting four-year contract hire deals, seen as a way of avoiding the uncertainty of operating the first Euro-6 compliant trucks.
