I Runcorn Transport Services Ltd. and of its associated companies, Weston Tippers 'Ltd. and R.T.S. Warehousing Ltd:, has been acquired by the Transport Development Group Ltd.
Consideration for the acquisitions comprised the allotment of 242,856 ordinary shares of 5s. each of Transport Development Group Ltd. credited as fully paid, and payment of the sum of £80,000 in cash.
The companies operate 85 vehicles and 40 trailers, based at Runcorn and the present managing director, Mr. Harold Wood, will cOntinue in this capacity.
OCTOBER 25 FOR WAGES ORDER NEwnight pay and subsistence allowance rates for haulage workers have now been approved by the Minister of Labour and will come into effect on October 25. The Road Haulage Wages Order setting out the new provisions, R.H.(76), has now been published and interested parties, including all listed employers, will receive the appropriate notice from the Ministry on about October 21.
The changes introduced by the Order are, briefly, that special night pay is increased from 8d. to ltd. an hour and the subsistence allowance from 18s. to 20s per rest period, white Trouse with Newton, near Norwich, is added to the list of Grade I areas.
