Ackermann In France: The German heavy commercial vehicle manufacturer Ackermann Fahrzeugbau of Wupperthal has set up a subsidiary, to be known as AckermannFrance, at Etreux; the new factory will be making refrigerated bodies and trailers and general bodywork for goods vehicle chassis built by the parent company in Germany.
Change: The Avon India Rubber Co. Ltd. has changed its name to the Avon Rubber Co. Ltd. The new, simple title prevents confusion and properly describes the company's business.
Tutorial Transfer : The address of the Transport Tutorial Committee has been changed. All inquiries should now go to : School of Business, Ealing Technical College, St. Mary's Road, London, W.5.
Triplex Factory for Larkhall The new Triplex factory to serve the motor industry in Scotland, announced last May, will almost certainly be in a development area at Larkhall, Lanarkshire, and is expected to be in production in early 1965, employing about 160 personnel. Negotiations are now almost completed for a 22-acre site.
Brown Brothers Consolidate: The Oxford company of Brown Brothers Ltd. has now consolidated all its facilities and accommodation under one roof at new premises opened in Horspath Road, Cowley, Oxford. (Tel. : Oxford 77331.)
Japanese Fruehaufs: The Fruehauf Trailer Co., Detroit, has licensed two Tokyo concerns—Nippon Light Metals Co. and Isuzu Motors—to manufacture and sell Fruehaufdesigned trailers in Japan and Okinawa.
Turnover Up: In the first eight months of the year to August 31, the turnover of Martin Walter Ltd. at £2,661,187 was an increase of £101,004 over the corresponding period in 1962. and higher profits for the full year are expected.
Michelin Opens in Chester: A new Michelin depot with service facilities opened in Chester this week. It has a storage area of more than 7,000 sq. ft. and is designed to serve North Wales and parts of Cheshire at present supplied from Liverpool. Address of the new depot is Sealand Road IndustrialEstate, Chester. Telephone numbers are 27195 (depot) and 26388 (service station).
