Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LONDON TRANSPORT has embarked on a four-year programme of installing saloon heaters in RT, RF and RLH buses of the central area fleet, to bring them more Mt° line with the Routemaster which has built-in heating on both decks. Only buses with a reasonable life expectation will be equipped—buses due for replacement by Routemasters within the next few years will be excluded. More than 1,900 RTs, 220 REs and 30 RLHs are involved in the programme, and will be fitted with heaters as they

are overhauled at the Aldenham works.

The new heaters are fan-blown units which use waste heat from the engine cooling system. Double-deckers will have one heater under the front offside seat in the lower saloon, and one under the front nearside seat in the upper. The RF single-decker will have one heater at the rear and one towards the front. A similar scheme for equipping country area buses with heaters was completed recently.
