operate the first bus service through the new Clyde tunnel at Whiteinch was granted by the Scottish Traffic Commissioners in Glasgow last week; the service will start on Sunday between Drumchapel and Govan Cross.
Mr. E. R. L. Fitzpayne, Glasgow's general manager, said that this would be an experimental service to see the extent of demand for buses using the tunnel.
A recent application by Paton Bros. of Renfrew for a licence to operate buses through the tunnel has been withdrawn.
