Mr. E. R. L. Fitzpayne, general manager of Glasgow Corporation Transport. leaves London next week for a visit to U.S.A. and Canada, where, as vicepresident of U.I.P.T., he will be studying public transport problems and solutions.
Mr. W. B. (Tom) Jones has been appointed manager of the parts and accessories department of Vauxhall Motors Ltd., following the retirement last month of Mr. W. H. Phillips, who had held the position for 17 years. Mr. Jones joined Vauxhall from Delco-Remy and Hyatt Ltd. in 1954 to develop parts and accessories merchandising. He was appointed sales manager of the department in 1957 and assistant manager last year. Mr. E. G. Dravers, at present assistant general manager of The Potteries Motor Traction Company Ltd., has been appointed, as from November 1, general manager of Magnet Bowling Ltd., a subsidiary company of B.E.T. Investments Ltd., formed to operate ten-pin bowling centres.
, Mr. R. W. Aiken, A.E.C. treasurer, retired last week, He had been with A.E.C. for 44 years and is succeeded by Mr. T. II. Jacobs.
Mr. lila!' Powell has joined the Rootes Group as technical Press officer in succession to Mr. John Rowe, who has been appointed team manager to the competitions department. Mr. Powell was previously with The English Electric Company.
Mr. G. S. Sutcliffe has relinquished the chairmanship and retired from the board of J. W. Roberts Ltd. (a Turner and Newall company) of Horwich, Bolton. Mr. A. N. Marshall, who was managing director, has been appointed chairman.

Atkins, production director; Mr. C. L. G. Worn, director and chief engineer. Secretary of the company is Mr. K. A. N. Mills. Mr.. R. E. Bottrell, formerly transport manager of West,Hartlepool.Corporation Transport, has been appointed general. manager of South Shields C.T. in succession to Mr. J. Crawford, who is retiring. Mr. Bottrell, 44, was with Liverpool transport undertaking for about 20 years . and Portsmouth undertaking for five years-before moving to West Hartlepool .. in 1961. .M r. CraWford joined South Shields Corporation in 1913 and was its longest-serving employee.
Mr. G. C. Edmunds has succeeded Mr. G. F. Stoddart as the representative of the council of the Institute of Transport on the Transport Tutorial Committee.
Mr. S. H. Sullivan, formerly a director of L. A. Mitchell (IVlotcirs) Ltd., of Batham, Loudon, has been appointed commercial sales manager of Manton Motors Ltd. of Croydon. Surrey.
