WEST MIDLANDS bodybuilder Trent Industries has developed an air-actuated automatic sheeting system with a luck-away' position that is designed to prevent damage when loading.

Robin Bailey, sales director at Trent, explains that the Airways development project was launched after operators complained of damage to conventional sheeting systems which sit atop the front body bulkhead.

"Our design sits below the line of the body, keeping the sheeting system out of harm's way," he says.

The air operating system is located under the tipper bodyTwo air cylinders power the mechanism that pulls the sheet over the load.

When stowed the sheet sits in a section at the front of the bulkhead. This has a cut-out bottom to allow any excess material dropped on top of the sheet to fall into the body and not clog the sheet.
