B.T.C. l'AKE-OVER NOT TOLERATED

IN no circumstances would the taking over of the South Shields municipal bus system by the British Transport Commission be tolerated. Cllr. 1. Caplan, speaking for "a section of the council," made this declaration when he spoke at a recent branch meeting of the Omnibus Passengers' Prkection Association.

Capt. T. 13. Storey, chairman, made reference to happenings in London and said that it was plain what would occur if local control of transport were dislodged.
