Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A £2,000 ransom is being demanded by a former Dalton Transport driver for the return of the brand new truck he took after finishing his last job for the company.

The driver claims he is owed money by the London-based firm because he was paid less than other employees on the same work.

Gary Carr from Dalton Transport denies that the driver has any claim. He initially contacted the police in an attempt to retrieve the vehicle but is now offering a £1,000 reward for information leading to its recovery. Carr says he even tried to meet the driver to pay the ransom as he thought this would be the cheapest way to resolve the situation, but the driver failed to turn up.

It is believed that the Leyland Oaf 95XF is being worked by the

driver, without insurance, somewhere in the Dover area. "We are reaching the end of our tether," says Carr. "We've been through it time and again to make sure he'd been paid but now it's getting us down."

The truck is bright orange with the Dalton Transport livery on the sides; it has the registration number BGTF 54.
