An Essex scrap merchant has been fined E9A100 with £2,900 costs for improper storage of parts, oil and batteries. Basildon-based Century Salvage Sales last week pleaded guilty to three offences at Basildon Crown Court.
Environment Agency area environment protection manager Sue !tines says: "Companies dealing with waste such as this must realise that failure to comply with legislation designed to protect the environment will result in prosecution by the agency."
