Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A. J. P. Wilding, Genera, Wednesday ALMOST all the more important European 1--L commercial vehicle manufacturers are represented here at the Geneva Show, including many from Britain. But whilst there are some new vehicles there is not much in the way of novelty.

As expected, the major Swiss manufacturer of commercial vehicles, Saurer, has new models including a 6 x 6 version of a previous chassis with a load capacity of 11 tons and having a 260 b.h.p, diesel engine; also an articulated bus for 150 passengers.

Sisu, the Finnish vehicle maker. has a new 16-ton-gross four-wheeler which, like other models from this company, has a Leyland PowerPlus 0.680 engine. But of more interest from Sisu is the announcement of a drive system for trailer or semi-trailer wheels through hydraulic motors integral with the hubs. These are fed from a pump driven by a prime mover engine and the system is intended for application to cross-country vehicles.

There is also a new version of a Unimog shown by Daimler-Benz. This is the 421, which in size and capacity comes between the two existing Unimog models, the 411 and 416. A new feature is that the cab can be tilted for maintenance— interesting because Daimler-Benz is the only major German manufacturing company that does not have a tilt cab on its normal trucks.

The engine in the new model develops 40 b.h.p. and although primarily designed as a tractor vehicle and for use with special equipment such as snow ploughs, the Unimog 421 can carry a 1.25-ton load.
