Mr. Denys Snow, for the department, said that it was its first application for an increase since 1951 and would yield an extra £15,000. The application was granted.

LLESS than two months after the major oil companies raised the price of their petrol and oil fuel, a new British company, Kieft Oil Products, Ltd., has been established and is selling two grades of petrol and oil fuel at Id. a gallon less than the usual prices.

The cheaper fuel is being sold at six garages in Wolverhampton, Kidderminster, Stourbridge and Wellington, and deliveries will be made within a ' 50-mile radius of Birmingham.

Kieft Oil Products has been formed by 'Mr. Cyril Kieft, a drop-forging manufacturer, of Wolverhampton. He said last week that he had made arrangements with a South American oil company to supply him with not more than 10m. gallons of fuel a year.

He also disclosed that since last July he had been supplying the fuel at reduced prices to bus companies, industries, farmers, and some local authorities.
