120-tonners

DELIVERY of a 120-ton sevenaxle extendible semi low-loader completes an order by Trailer Supermarkets (Bawtry), for 15 trailers from Broshuis Trailers of Princes Risborough, Aylesbury, Bucks.

The trailer, built by Broshuis BV of the Netherlands, is fitted with SAF air suspension and a combination of hydraulic steered and self-tracking axles. The air suspension, fully compensating, with a built-in raise and lower facility of the main deck, Offers operators a high degree of flexibility for loading and unloading.

The rearmost axles are hydraulically kingpin-steered with electric manual override facility.

All service lines (air, electrics and hydraulic fluid) are positioned along a "trombone" track built into the extending central beam. For maintenance purposes the complete track can be removed.

A closed deck length of 11rn (36ft) extends to 18m (59ft) in 70cm (2ft 31/2in) increments. It takes an experienced driver just two minutes to extend the trailer to the required length. The running height of the lower deck is 1m (3ft 3in).
