The vehicle range

Vehicles made by what is now Chrysler United Kingdom Ltd—Commer, Dodge and Karrier—have always had something of a reputation for being quality trucks in the quantity-produced field. Since the amalgamation of Commer and Karrier with Dodge there has been no attempt to produce models identical except for the name badge on the front although in certain overseas markets vehicles made by one member of the group are sometimes sold with the marque name of another.

Corn mer, Dodge and Karrier models have therefore retained, in general, the design characteristics that they had before the merger. There have been no major changes to the ranges although there have been alterations in the way of dropping competing models and improving specifications. Commer vehicles go from 15cwt vans up to 16 ton gross four wheelers and include 18.75 ton tractive units. Dodge starts with a 13 ton gross rigid but extends higher— to a 28 ton gross tractive unit and also markets maximum-gross three-axle machines. Karrier models are aimed particularly at the municipal markets and there are chassis for gross weights from 5.4 to 9.5 tons.
