• Within the next two or three months Carveyor Ltd hopes to phase out its Model Five Ten semi-trailer and replace it with the Model 700. The Five Ten has been in production since May 1968 and the new model is to the same basic design but for higher operating weights.

Plated weight of the Five Ten was originally 12 tons which was subsequently uprated to 14 tons. The 700 will be offered at 15 tons on 10.00-22.5 tyres and 17 tons on 11.00-22.5 tyres. Changes include heavy-duty road springs, larger and heavier frame gussets, a 50 per cent increase in top deck stiffness and, on the 17-ton version, single-tyred rear axles plated at 6 tons each if requested.

Cost will be higher but a longer life is expected to be obtained. Basic price will be £3500 less normal discounts.
