Brian Bishop, 38, has moved to project manager, sales and service, for the motor accessory division of Smiths Industries Ltd; he will be responsible to E. F. Kirby, sales and service executive, for special projects— initially, new equipment for commercial vehicles. Mr Bishop has been with Smiths for eight years and was at one time chief engineer special projects.

W. Preslin has been promoted export sales manager of Brown Brothers (Overseas) Ltd. Mr Preslin has recently returned from visits to North Africa, the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East. B. Whittle moves from assistant manager at Brown Brothers Ltd's Preston branch to manager of the specialized services branch at Burnley.

Paul G. Whick, 23. has been appointed by Frigoscandia Transport to area transport manager for the company's King's Lynn, Norfolk and Doncaster transport offices. Mr Whick joins Frigoscandia from SGH (International Freight) Ltd., London, where he was an assistant manager.

P. C. Partos has been appointed Skefko Ball Bearing Co Ltd manager, marketing and resources planning. Mr Partos joined Skefko as operations planning manager in 1969 from the Glacier Metal Co Ltd.

R. H. Brooks (company secretary, Red and White Services Ltd. Chepstow) has been elected chairman of the South Wales and Monmouthshire sections of the Chartered Institute of Transport.
