Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The 1972 edition of the FTA Yearbook is now available. Freight Transport Association members receive a copy free and additiohal copies may be obtained at £2 each.

For those who want not only an explanation of the law affecting goods vehicle operations but also some means of locating the actual provisions in regulations the section "Where to find the law" is highly useful; so too is the pull-out sheet giving a schedule of exemptions. Both these sections were included for the first time last year.

The usual list of legislation implemented since the previous edition is included and explanations of the items are contained in the body of the book. • Costing vehicle operations is a new and necessary addition to the book — although lack of space obviously prevents any great amount of detail of this complex subject being given. Its inclusion was to be expected in the light of the Association's increasing activities in the vehicle costing field.

A last minute entry — the last page in fact — contains information on the revised vehicle gross weight proposals. These are shown in diagrammatic form.

The Yearbook contains, as always, a wealth of useful data for the ownaccount operator and manager presented in a way which is easy to follow and ideal for quick reference. D.L.
