Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PLANS for the first stage of the run-down of the Glasgow trolleybus system were announced last week. Services 101 and 102 will be the first to be withdrawn, probably in June.

Buses will take over the 101 route, except that buses will run via Caledonia Road instead of Rutherglen Road to serve an industrial estate. The 102 service will not be replaced, however, as it is felt that there are sufficient existing services covering this route.

The number of trolleybuses operated by Glasgow Corporation Transport has already been reduced to 120 from the original 200, and the fleet will now be reduced to 100.

Transport convener Cllr. William M. Lee stated 'that he would not be sorry when the last trolleybus was withdrawn. They were expensive to operate and were the cause of traffic congestion when they broke down.

M. and D. Safe Driving: Drivers of Maidstone and District Motor Services Ltd. maintained their excellent safe driving record in 1964 to win a total of 721 awards in the RoSCO competition. Of this total 266 were for 15 or more years.
