Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ICENCE applications should be made in such precise terms that they provided adequate scope for enforcement, said Mr. W. F. Quin, Scottish Licensing Authority, at Glasgow last week.

This indication was made when John Strang, Ltd., Glasgow, applied to vary the conditions of their B licence by extending the radius from 10-25 miles.

For Strang, Mr. Roderick Mackenzie agreed that the application, which used the expression "with occasional journeys 25 miles from base," was ambiguous.

It was stated that Strang's A-licensed vehicles were fully employed, and customers were pressing for an extension of B-licensed operation.

Mr. Quin granted the extension.

COVENTRY-LONDON MI SERVICE?

1-1 A NEW motorway service between NEW and London is planned by the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd. Approval for the service is being sought from the West Midland Traffic Commissioners.

A company spokesman said last week that a number of Coventry people had requested a similar facility to the Birmingham-London motorway service.

The proposal is to run five return trips daily. Running time would be 2-} hours in each direction, and fares would cost 12s. 3d. single and 19s. 3d. return. The trips would allow for a 9+-hour stay in London.
