• Bridgend, Mid-Glamorganbased John Raymond Transport is looking for 30 experienced drivers with Class 1 licences after taking on around £4m of new business. International and domestic work is being offered.
The general haulier runs 160 vehicles and is investing more than Lim in 20 new Volvo FH12s. The new business is mainly from the construction materials and steel industries.
Joint managing director Andrew Raymond says business started to pick up for the company six months ago and stems both from a shortage of vehicles and the fact customers increasingly want to work with well-established hauliers.
