aircraft engines on to a trailer for transport have been over come by Engine Maintenance and Management Services (EMMS) of Heathrow by the use of a novel tandem axled low-loader from King Trailers.
To eliminate the need for special cranes or forklifts, King has inverted its Hydroneck system to enable EMMS to tilt the trailer bed with the neck attached, giving a 5.50
loading angle for the engine trolleys.
EMMS has low-profile tyres, height adjustable air suspension and profiled width adjusting hydraulic ramps. It can carry most engines including the newest GE90 turbofan.
