SEVEN HUNDRED Road Haulage Association members and their friends travelled to Wallsend from all parts of Britain for a surprise presentation on Friday this week to Dennis Le Conte. The occasion was to mark his retirement from what used to be the association's Northern District.
Mr Le Conte joined the district as secretary 29 years ago. Recently, his title was changed to district manager.
Bill Handcock, chairman of
the North Eastern District of the RHA (formerly the Northern District) presented him with a gold watch and other gifts on behalf of the members.
