• Specifications for large welded containers, including road tankers, for the transport by road of compressed and liquefied gases will not be complete until the end of the year.
The specifications are being prepared under the auspices of the British Standards Institution based on the recommendations of the Home Office Gas Cylinders and Containers Committee.
Specifications for seamless containers and for small welded containers are complete but those for the larger welded containers have "fallen behind schedule", according to the annual report of HM Inspectors of Explosives.
