A RECOMMENDATION made by the Common Market Commission that member ri Governments of the market bloc should take certain measures in aiding intercountry transport co-ordination has been passed on to the so-called European Parliament and the economic and social committee of the Common Market central administration. The plan has been forwarded to these bodies by the organization's Ministerial Council, which is to make a decision on the matter on receiving their views.
The recommendation as it now stands is said to be a modified form of that laid before the Ministerial Council at the end of June; it foresees, amongst other things, the issuing of a statement by the Commission, on planned changes in national laws —in as far as such laws might affect international .transport co-ordination—within 40 days of the reporting of such planned changes to commission headquarters.
